Bev has 10 years of academic training and over 18 years of applied experience as an aquatic ecologist. She is involved in all aspects of her projects including project management, completion of ecological inventories, detailing site specific opportunities and constraints, development of practical solutions to issues encountered, report writing, and attendance at meetings and hearings. Bev has completed the MTO/MNR/DFO Fisheries Training and is familiar with the agencies’ requirements to secure necessary fisheries approvals. (more…)
Kevin is a senior ecologist with more than 27 years of experience in the construction materials industry. He has participated in many licensing, permitting and rehabilitation projects and specializes in the integration of the physical (e.g. water resources) and biological sciences. Kevin has directed a wide range of multi-disciplinary projects, and also has extensive experience with Species at Risk, the Fisheries Act, expert testimony, monitoring, Environmental Assessment and construction.
Kevin has assisted the Ontario Sand, Stone, and Gravel Association (OSSGA) on number of regulatory and policy positions and recently participated in the cumulative impact study in the Carden Plain. (more…)

Tristan is our Lead Ecologist in our Southern Ontario office. Tristan’s expertise is in the characterization, management, and restoration of terrestrial, wetland, and aquatic ecosystems. He brings integrated ecological knowledge and skill-sets to his work which has spanned both public and private sectors. Tristan is certified in Ecological Land Classification (ELC), Ontario Wetland Evaluation System (OWES), Ontario Benthos Biomonitoring Network (OBBN), and Ontario Stream Assessment Protocol (OSAP) and is also an ISA-certified Arborist. Matt brings both his academic training and more than 10 years of applied experience in fisheries and terrestrial assessments to the RiverStone team. His field experience has included assisting crews on many technical and complex biology field programs throughout Ontario and western Canada. Sandy is a highly skilled office manager with accounting experience spanning over forty years. She acts as the receptionist at our Bracebridge office and takes care of all bookkeeping and administrative components of our projects.
Aquatic Science Consultant
Bev has worked in aquatic science for 40 years, most of these at the Dorset Environmental Science Centre where the effects of multiple stressors on aquatic ecosystems are studied. The Dorset Centre conducts research on the impacts of eutrophication, climate change, acid rain, invasive species and shoreline development on the water quality and aquatic ecosystems of lakes throughout Ontario. In later years, he was the coordinator of the Lake Partner Program which has given him first hand experience with hundreds of Ontario Lakes. Over the years, he was involved with the collection and interpretation of data for many projects involving Ontario’s largest lakes including Lake of the Woods, Lake Nipissing, Lake Simcoe and the Kawartha Lakes.
Austyn is a Western University Integrated Engineering student currently going into her 3rd year. Austyn is working with our team to design and implement robotic equipment to aid in the location of bats species at risk in the Muskoka area and throughout Ontario. She is also participating in the implementation of a new software system for our ongoing and upcoming projects. (more…)
